Niez Studio is a landscape design studio set-up in 1995 by the gardener and landscape designer Philippe Niez, following fifteen years of close collaboration with Gilles Clément within their Acanthe Studio. Based in Paris, the studio works as much in France as internationally, and especially around the Mediterranean. A wide range of projects in varied locations/climates has strengthened our deep-rooted belief that a thorough horticultural knowledge of different environments is a key pillar of good landscape design.
Niez Studio works at all project scales, from sketch design through to detailed design and completion. The studio operates in France and worldwide for both public and private organisations with particular expertise in the following types of landscape design and analysis :
Parks, gardens & nature : the Jardin des Faïenciers, Sarreguemines (Moselle), awarded the government label "Jardins Remarquables", renovation of the historic grounds of a chateau in Sologne, the grounds of a private villa in Rabat (Morocco), an urban park in Burkina-Fasso...
Urban projects : the Place de la Charpenterie, a public square sited within the protected perimeter of Orléans' cathedral, the university campus in Dakar...
Housing & Mixed use : a private terrace in Ville d'Avray, the Meunier-BNP Paribas headquarters in Paris, shared gardens for social housing in Kremlin-Bicêtre...
Show gardens : a fashion show for the Dior couture house, the Garden World Cup in Japan, the Singapore Flower Show...
Our projects take shape at different scales and in various countries, so Niez Studio always make a point to plan every landscape around the people, the gardeners .
